TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

There is a brand new challenge starting at the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog.  Our challenge is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (use at least one star).  We again have three wonderful sponsors.

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: 2 images of choice

Prize: $10 gift certificate

I was given this little cutie called "Happy Birthday Jessica" from Little Blue Button Stamps.  I knew I wanted to make a birthday card so it was just obvious to pick this image.  But how to incorporate stars?

So I decided I would do my own background and emboss it.  I've got a little tutorial on how this was created.

My first step was to choose a color.  I chose Lemon Yellow from Color Burst.

I sprinkled a little around the paper.

Next you spritz with water and watch the colors burst out.

After I had my yellow, I wanted some green.  I pulled out Terre Verte.

Look at the beautiful bursts of color.

After this dried I embossed it with stars.

Next I picked out the color to go directly behind my image and cut it out with my new favorite die from Gina Marie Designs.

I added some embossing to this also.

Every birthday girl needs some ribbon.  This I just received in the mail from DL Art.  I won it!  Yea!!

I created the bow and added a button for the center with some twine tied through it.

So this is the finished design.  I placed this on the card base with black paper in between to pop it out.

Next some pop dots for the image and the sentiment.

The sentiment here is cut out to follow the letter's ups and downs.  I didn't want it to cover up too much of the background.

Again the finished card.  I like how bright and cheery this looks.  Not sure who is getting it yet.  Maybe my niece who is turning 12 soon.  I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and don't forget to stop by the LTSCB and check out all the wonderful creations from the design team.

Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed day.
