LOVING SPRING!

The weather has been so crazy.  I picked my daughter up from the airport on Sunday and there was snow covering the ground.  I then dropped her off at the airport five days later with the sun shining bright and the temperature was 70!  Spring is finally here.  I loved having her here but it is so hard to say goodbye again.  At least I know she is at a wonderful college and getting a great education.

It's hard to believe it's been two weeks already.  So here we are with another challenge at the

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog

The challenge is "Anything Goes"

We are sponsored by

Prize: Goodie bag of craft supplies

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: 3 images of choice to winner

I was given the image "Bird Flourish and Script Collage" from A Creative Need.  The inspiration for coloring the bird comes from my sister's birds.  This one is named Rudy.  Isn't he cute!

This is Sydney.  She is so smart.  She sings and does tricks too.  She has a red tail you can't see.

The bird I colored is a combo of the two.  I colored it twice and did a fussy cut on the flowers, bird and branch.  My scissors really need to be sharpened.  This cut was not easy.  Since the images were so small I put Glastique on them before cutting them out.

The background is a wash using diluted Dylusions.  I had never done that before so I had to practice for a while.  First I colored the images and added the Glastique before doing the wash.  After it dried I added the fussy cut images and popped them up on some black foam squares.  I used the black because the flowers were so small the white foam ones would show up and take away from the image.

I decided I wanted some butterflies and when I figured out which ones I was in a bind.  I had picked out brads but had already glued the papers down.  I removed the back of the brads and just used some glue dots to adhere them.

Because of all the flowers on the front I thought the inside should have something too so I added a floral stamp in the corner.   Here's how it turned out.

I hope you have enjoyed this mini tutorial.  Please stop over at the LTSCB and join us in the challenge.  Don't forget to check out all the fabulous creations from the DT.

Thanks for visiting and have a magnificent day!
