A DIFFERENT KIND OF BIRTHDAY CARD

Welcome to another fabulous challenge at Crafting When We Can.   Our challenge is to "Distress It".   This challenge is sponsored by Oddball Art.

Oddball Art Co.

I've been given Crazy Callie to use.  She also comes with a few extras that I didn't use so here they are so you can see what you get with this image

I decided she was a bit of a rebel so I gave her some bright blue hair.  Even a rebel can be somewhat girly so the rest of her is pink.  I love the look on her face...she seems to be saying "really" with attitude to me.  I couldn't just do happy birthday...not with that look and I wanted to add a number for the Butterfly Challenge blog.  It seemed to me I could do this card for someone who wanted to hang on to that number that leaves us all to quickly "29".  When my kids want to make me feel good they say I'm 26 because I looked so good that year.  I would never want to go back though.

This ribbon was won in a candy some time ago.  I have never known what to do with it.  I had only ever used flat ribbons and my bows just looked regular.  I have trouble going outside my comfort zone.  A while back I found a wonderful blog that continues to inspire me.  She uses a lot of these ribbons and so I practiced until I could make something similar.  Go check out Lisa's blog...she really is terrific!

I hope this inspires you to join us in the challenge over at CWWC and don't forget to check out all the wonderful DT projects.

Thanks for your visit and have a blessed day!

Such a sweet card, Robin! I love her shiny blue hair, and the blue theme throughout your pink background! I am dazzled by your bow! FANTASTIC job - Lisa really does create fabulous ribbon bows. She would be so proud of yours! I am intrigued by the edges of your ribbon - you've inspired me to attempt to shade only the edges of some of my stash! Thank you!

Now for my other hat: Thanks for joining us in the Scrapy Land Challenge! Hope to see your pretty projects again.

Your card did make me smile robin. My daughter has been refusing to budge from being 29yrs for a good many years. Suits me just fine as I can lop the same amount of years off my age too!!!!! Love your sassy image and her blue hair. Thankyou for fluttering by my #41. Off to look at how to make one of those super bows now. hugs Mrs A.
