HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORTLYNN

Welcome to another sensational challenge at

We are sponsored this time by Art by Miran

Our challenge is "No Design Paper"

When I saw the images I just had to choose this one.  My niece is turning 13 soon.  Finally a teenager.  Although, she has been testing our nerves for years practicing to be a teenager.  She has perfected it.  This was just so cute I thought Cortlynn would just love it.  Her birthday isn't until December so I am hiding it until then.  She caught me working on it and had a request.  She wanted a pop out card.  So I have it popped out on the inside.  It isn't quite finished inside yet so I can't include a picture of that part.

Since we could not use design papers, I did some embossing and then added some distress ink to create a background.  I hope she likes it.  I have a Top Tip for fussy cutting.  If you are doing a fussy cut and also using some type of substance that needs to dry, add your craft item first and let it dry.  It will help when doing the fussy cut to have a harder substance on smaller areas.  I use Glossy Accents a lot and also glitter glues.  I have used the Glossy Accents on the boots to give them the look I want and also to give them strength when I did my fussy cut.

Please check out all the wonderful DT creations at Crafting When We Can.  I do hope you will join us for this challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  See you soon!

CHRISTMAS CAROLING

WOW!  My last post was four weeks ago.  I have had quite a month.  Since I moved from Georgia to Ohio I have had my belongings in a storage shed.  I have finally come to the realization that I needed to get rid of it.  I decided to have a garage sale.  I had movers pick up my stuff (which was in a 10' x 20' shed) on Thursday and had my garage sale on Friday and Saturday.  I really did not remember what all I had and had to sort through everything.

The movers got to me about five hours late and so I didn't get started on the organization until almost dinner time for the kids.  I don't know about you but I am really dead by about 8:00.  I managed to go until 11:00 but still had so much to do.  The sale started at 9:00 am.  By the time I was done I thought I could just sleep for a week.  I then had to organize what was left from the sale and get ready for Goodwill to pick up what I was donating.  I worked myself silly along with my sister and my sister-in-law.  Without their help I know I could not have managed.  I'm so thankful for these beautiful women to do this for me.

After that was finished I guess my body just said stop and I got sick.  I stayed in bed almost a whole week.  I was so miserable.  I usually see my sister at least once a week and I haven't seen her since the sale.  I'm not quite all the way better yet so her husband won't let me over to their house.  I can't blame him though.  Becky gets really sick from just a cold and she would be on her back for at least two weeks.  I didn't want her sick either so I have stayed away.  Hopefully I will get to go over to her house next weekend.

So now I'm back with another fabulous challenge brought to you by
