A "FAIRY" BIG THANK YOU

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having an absolutely beautiful day.  I'd like to welcome you to another fabulous challenge at

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN

Our challenge is something I have never done before.  It's called "No Line Technique".  Basically you print the image so light you can hardly see them so the lines don't show up once the image is colored.  There is a tutorial here for you.

We are once again sponsored by Inky Impressions:

Over Mother's Day weekend, my sister Rebecca and I went to a scrap-booking convention in Michigan.  We have cousins (Hazel and Candy) there that we don't see very often.  At the convention we got to meet Tim Holtz!  It was so exciting.  He is such a nice guy.  I loved all the distressing techniques he showed us and hopefully after a little practice I will be making projects using them.

We visited Bronner's in Frankenmuth, MI which is the largest Christmas store in the country.  There is also a small mock German village with shops and restaurants.  They have an amazing fairy store where Rebecca got a biker chick gnome.   It is so her.  Candy went with us to the convention and she knows just about everyone there.  She has a shop also and so knows most of the venders.  We had such an amazing time and plan to attend next year also.

I am making them some thank you cards.  I posted Candy's card on Friday.  This one is for her mom.  Hazel has a set of fairies in her yard that are just adorable.  I thought she would love this image.

The image I used is called "Fairy Sitting on a Clothespin".  I colored her with Copic markers then added some Glossy Accents & glitter pen for that added shine.  I added a butterfly from  Craft Fantastic  (one of the companies at the convention).  The sentiment is from Scrappy Cat & I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen.  The pearls are Queen & Co., the ribbon is from Offray and the papers are all from my scraps (love to use those up).

I hope to see you in the challenge this fortnight and don't forget to visit CWWC challenge blog and check out all the fabulous projects that have been made by my fellow DT members.

CONGRATULATIONS ANNIE!!

It's graduation season again and I have another graduation card to share.  There is a beautiful young woman at our church named Annie and she is graduating this year.  She is a very good friend of my daughter and such a wonderful girl.  She is set to attend BYU in Idaho in the fall.  We are all so proud of her.

This picture of her was taken on an apple picking trip our young women went on.  They all had such a great time.

I made this card using papers all from my scraps (YEA ME!).  The image comes from Sassy Studio Designs.  She is colored with Copic markers and I've added Glossy Accents.  The embossing folders are both from Darice.  My daughter chose the folders because Annie is so into singing and she is a total star!  The die cut is from Stampin' Up.  The stars and sentiment are some embellishments from Jolee's Boutique.  The colors are her school colors but the yellow was just so bright that the picture wasn't turning out very well so I added some Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and have a fabulous day!

CHICKENS FOR CANDY

Hi everyone!  Over Mother's Day weekend my sister Rebecca and I went to Michigan to attend a scrapbooking convention.  We have cousins who live that way and our cousin Candy wanted us to go with her.  She came down here last year to Akron for the convention there and so we wanted to go to Michigan this time.
It was so much fun!!!  We went to Frankenmuth to see the largest Christmas store in the country and then went through a German village they have there also.  We went to a store that sells all the fairies you could ever want and also some of the funniest gnomes.  Rebecca got a biker chick gnome.  It's hilarious.

The next day we went to the scrapbooking convention.  We got to see a lot of stuff and participate in lots of make and takes.  The best part of all though was meeting Tim Holtz in person and watching a demonstration by him.

This was such a fabulous trip that I had to make a card for Candy.  I will be sharing a card for her mom also in another post.  Candy has chickens and she just loves them.  We got to see her chickens and they are just adorable.  I thought she would like this image for her card.  Here is a pic of Candy and one of her chickens.

I know you can't see her very well but you can see how much she loves that chicken.  This is her favorite one.

The image I used is from Elizabeth Dulembo coloring pages.  I colored with my Copics and added some Glossy Accents to all areas other than feathers.  The feet really needed some stabilizing.  The DP is from Trimgym and the others are from my scraps.  Love using them up.  I received the ribbon in a candy win and the stamp is from Scrappy Cat.

Candy also has a shop where you can find all your crafting needs.  You should check it out here.

LET'S DO THIS THING

Here we are again with another fortnightly challenge from

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN

Our challenge is to use a die cut shape.  We are being sponsored by

INKY IMPRESSIONS

Inky Impressions

I was fortunate enough to meet with Nicole, the owner of Inky Impressions, once at a craft convention in Akron, OH.  They are located in Ohio and rarely travel to other conventions so to meet them you must come here.  Since I'm already here I got lucky.

The image I am using is "Work Out Cat".  I have colored with Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents and Wink of Stella to sparkle up her work out suit.  My die cut comes from Spellbinders.  The embossing folder is Darice.  The papers are from The Paper Co., Scrapbooking Supplies and generic.  The gems are Martha Stewart and the ribbon is from Offray.

I made the sentiment on Word specifically for me and my sister.  We are going to be doing some working out.  She just doesn't know it yet.  I have mailed this card to her.  I'm not sure if she will have it before this goes live or not.  Hopefully she will be joining me in this effort.

She got the card in the mail already and has agreed to "do this thing" with me.  YEA!!
Please check out the great creations my fellow DT have made for you at Crafting When We Can and make sure to leave them some love.

CONGRATULATIONS JACINTO

Hi all!  I wanted to share a card I made for my friend's son.  Jacinto is graduating from High School and about to embark on his new life.  I made this simple card for him.  His mom is having a dinner for him tonight and I get to read a letter from her to him.  It's so sweet!

Jacinto will be serving a mission for our church.  He is such a good example to the other young men and women.  I know he will be a great success in bringing people to the Gospel.

To make this card I used some clip art on Word and fussy cut it.  The papers are from Bazzill and some generic.  I used an embossing folder from Darice and the sentiment and stars are from EK Success.
