A BIRDIE TOLD ME

Happy Sunday and welcome to a new challenge at

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN

Our challenge this week is "Lots of Bling" and we are being sponsored by Art By Mi Ran.

This image is called "A Birdie Told Me".  When I saw it I thought of my sister.  She has five parrots (and not little ones).  Her birds are just so gorgeous.  One of them is a Yellow Naped Amazon named Sydney.  She is the first bird Rebecca ever got.  Isn't she just beautiful!

I've colored my image with Copic markers.  I was with my sister coloring this and she let me use her markers.  She has tons more than me so I was using markers I don't even have.  After coloring her I added some glitter glue and Glossy Accents for that added sparkle.  The sketch I picked is from Sketch N Stash

The papers come from Bazzill, Kaiser Craft, My Minds Eye and some generic.  The ribbon is Darice and the pearls are from my stash.

I hope you will head over to the CWWC challenge blog and see what the other DT members have created to inspire you.  Also, our blog has a whole new look.  You're going to love it.  Hope to see you in the challenge this fortnight.

She had a lot of fun but said it was a lot of work.  Please go to her blog and leave her some love.  She just loves to hear from people.  Head on over to her blog here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNEDIE

It's a hard day for a mom when her child turns 16.  When my youngest turned 16 the countdown began for her last two years before college.  This time it's not my kid (thankfully).  I don't think I could take another countdown.  Two was enough.

This is for my beautiful niece Kennedie!  She will be turning 16 in May.  I know I'm early on this but when I saw the images at The Stamping Chef, this one just sang out Kennedie.  She wears leggings all the time and boy does she have the attitude down pat.  The only difference is she has long hair.  Her hair is actually a beautiful red, however, she insists on coloring her hair and often has red roots.

So let's get down to business:

Welcome to another fabulous challenge at

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN

Our challenge this fortnight is "FOOD"

We are sponsored by (you guessed it) "The Stamping Chef"

This image is called "Attitude Avery".  I have colored her with Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents and Stickles.  Love the shiny!  I've done this card in all purples (though some of it looks a bit blue to me - it is all purple).  Purple is Kennedie's favorite color.  I've chosen a sketch from Papertake Weekly.  Since it's a free for all this time I chose sketch #66.

For the papers, I am happy to say it all came from my scraps bag.  It's so nice to be able to use that up.  I only know one of the papers is Bazzill.  The ribbon and both embossing folders are from Darice.  These are new embossing folders and I'm glad I got to use them together.  Pearls are Want 2 Scrap, button from Gartner Studios, the ink used for distressing is Stampin' Up Orchid Opulence and the charm is from Inky Impressions.

I do hope you will join us this fortnight.  For some more inspiration, please visit my awesome team mates at CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN.  Please leave some love as we all love hearing from you.

WITH SYMPATHY

It's a sad day for those of us who are left behind when someone dies.  My friend Patricia lost her mother.  The anniversary of my own mother's passing is just days away and I know that this is a hard time for her.  I hope you will help by keeping her and her family in your prayers.

This is the first card I have ever made without using any ink.  This is entirely embossed.  It's also the first shaped card I have made.  I saw a tutorial recently on how to use your die to make one and I wanted to try it.  Here are the things I used:

Die cut - Stampin' Up
Stamps - Our Daily Bread & Stupendous
Embossing folder - Darice (it's a new one)
Embossing powder - Ranger
Pearls - Queen and Co.
