Scarfs for my girls

This month at a church activity we got to learn how to make a scarf.  I made these for my daughter and my nieces

This is for Cortlynn (she's 10)

This is Cara's (she's 8)

This one is for my daughter Alicia who is now 15.

I didn't think I would be able to do it but I did.  They all seemed to like them and Cara even strutted about saying watch the Diva!

Since usually my blog is all about cards, I thought this would be a nice change to see something else.  My sister and my sister-in-law both want one too.  Guess I better get going on them.  Let me know if you like them.  I always love to hear your comments.  Have a fabulous day!

Challenges entered:

Creative Craft - 3 of something (3 scarfs)
Joyful Stamper - Anything goes
Jellypark - Pink ABC

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

New blog offering candy

Wow!  Look at all this!  Kort & Godt are offering this to spread the word about their blog.  They have lovely vintage work.  Go and take a look.

SASSY PHILIPPINES HONEY

Hello everyone and welcome to another fortnight challenge at

This week I have had a unique challenge.  Our challenge is to pick a country and use the colors of their flag.  Not a difficult challenge.  We are however sponsored by

and I am on that design team too.  So my card also is for SSD.  Then the third and final challenge is another sponsorship.  SSD is sponsoring

which is "Know when to fold 'em".

So for these challenges I chose Philippines Honey from SSD.  She is just so pretty!  I looked up the flag for the Philippines and found that it shares the RED, WHITE & BLUE!  I thought that was cool.  It adds a yellow star-burst on their flag.  I copied the star-burst, cut it out and popped it up on the front of my card.  I then included the actual flag on the inside.

To color her I used Copics and Whisper Strokes markers.  I added some Glossy Accents to her hair to bring out the black.  This is the first time I have done black hair.  I think I did pretty good.  I then used some red and yellow Stickles to sparkle her up.

The fold I used is called "The Double Dutch Fold".  I got the tutorial from Shelly's Images.  The DP are some oriental papers I had in my scraps and the papers cut from the Spellbinders die are from DBS DigiScraps and Create with TLC.  The other papers are Bazzill.    The moon charm was in my stash and I have no idea where I got it.  The pearls are from Queen & Co.

Well I hope you have enjoyed your visit today.  Please stop by CWWC, SSD and TCC and see all the other fabulous creations that have been made.  Then get busy crafting and come back to enter the challenges.

These are the challenges I have entered:

The Corrosive Challenge - Know when to fold 'em
Craft-Room - Going Oriental
Creative Card #22 - Fancy folds
Die Cuttin Divas #88 - Shimmer, glimmer, gloss
A and T Emerald #34 - Anything goes
Ladybug Crafts - The lady needs a "P"
Brown Sugar #13 - Anything goes
 Oozak - Die cuts
The Crafty Blogger #4 - Anything goes

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Have a great day!

Sassy Sponsors Aud Sentiments

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Aud Sentiments.  The challenge is to use a sentiment from your favorite Fairy tale or story.  All the best ones end with them living happily ever after so that's what I chose for my sentiment.  I thought SSD's Madam Honey would be perfect to foretell that ending.

I used my Copics and Whisper Strokes markers to color her and then added some Glossy Accents to her crystal ball and some Stickles to sparkle her up.   The sketch that I used comes from Sketch N Stash.

The papers I am proud to say all came from my stash so I'm not sure who made them but I picked colors that stayed in the Halloween theme since it's still October.  The corner is DBS DigiScraps, ribbon is Darice, pearls from Inky Impressions and the sentiment I did on Word.

I have entered these challenges:

Aud Sentiments #66 - Sentiment from a Fairy tale
Divas by Design #58 - Use some orange
Inky Impressions - Fall or Halloween
Scrapalicious USA - Halloweenie
Forever Night - Photo impression / anything goes

I hope you go over and check out the other fabulous creations by my Sassy Sisters and don't forget to join in the challenge at Aud Sentiments.

Thanks for visiting me!  Have a great day!

CRAFTING WHEN WE CAN #29

It's a wedding celebration day here at

Today we are sponsored by

Weddings are just such happy occasions.  Don't you just love to see the pretty dresses and feel the love of two people making that promise to love forever.  I get so misty eyed at weddings.

The image I used today comes from Shelly's Images.  It's an image I won a while back from them and haven't had an opportunity to use it until now.  I colored with Whisper Strokes, Copic and Stampin' Up markers.  I need to get a tutorial.  I added some Glossy Accents to the flowers she has to bring them out a bit.

I found these pretty digi papers over at Bearly Mine.  They have so many beautiful free papers.  The others come from The Paper Co. and my stash.  I used a die cut from Spellbinders.  The floral and lace are from a candy win and the pearls from an Inky Impression win.  I am so glad to get to use these things. Finally this design is a sketch from Inspired by Stamping.

IBSIC-#30

HAVE SOME CANDY

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring

Wanna Badge??

The challenge - to make "Treacherous Treats".  I made this treat box from Stampin' Up.  It's originally designed to make a carrot.  With all the eyeballs on this paper from Crafty Moments it doesn't look like a carrot at all.

SSD is also sponsoring Vintage Elusions.  The challenge there is "Ephemera/anything goes".

Here is a closer look at the image.  I chose Mummy Honey.

I colored her with Copic, Stampin' Up and Whisper Strokes markers.  I'll be so excited when all my markers are Copics.  I used a little Glossy Accents to strengthen the smaller parts.  I have added some spiders from Martha Stewart (I like the one in her hair) and the ribbon is Offray.

My nieces are both arguing over who gets this and it doesn't even have the candy in it yet.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out all the fabulous creations my Sassy Sisters have made for your inspiration then hop over and join us in the challenges.

Don't forget this is day 2 of the release hop at Sassy Studio Designs.  Remember to check out all of the blogs today as they have some fabulous stuff to show off.

SASSY STUDIO DESIGNS RELEASE DAY!

It's here!  Sassy Studio Designs is having a new release today!  There will be two days of fabulous showcasing and don't forget to leave comments as there will be a winning comment chosen for a prize.

This is my first official release as a Design Team member.  I'm so excited!  You should have arrived here from the fabulous Christine.  Isn't she amazing.  If you arrived here first, please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and start your hop there.

We have three new images for you today.  I have used Sassy Witch.  Don't you just love her.  She's gorgeous!  Along with the images and the hop we have a game to play too.  Everyone know how to play BINGO?  Thought so.  But just in case, you need to pick a line going straight across, straight down or diagonally.  Here's the play board:

I chose the third line.  I used a spider, bones, green, cauldron and for the free space I used webs. To color my image I used Copic, Stampin' Up and Whisper Strokes markers.  I added some Glossy Accents and Stickles by Ranger.  The cauldron comes from an old Halloween sheet I had from SSD also.  I used the same markers of course.  The DP are Crafty Moments, the others are from my stash.  I used embellishments from Martha Stewart, Recollections and my stash.  I added pearls from Queen & Co. and the corner punch is Martha.  The Sketch I used is from Sketch N Stash.

Your next stop on the hop is Ruza.  She has an amazing card to show you.  Here is the list of everyone in the hop if you missed anyone.

FIGHT LIKE A GIRL

SASSY STUDIO DESIGNS is sponsoring another challenge (2 actually).

Tuesday Morning Sketches

and here is the sketch

I have taken some creative liberty with the design.  I had no idea how to make this shape as my cutting skills are not fabulous and I don't have a die anything like this.

The second challenge SSD is sponsoring is Tuesday Alchemy

Tuesday Alchemy

Their challenge today is Anything Goes.

This made it easy to combine the two together and there you have it.

I chose to do another card for "Breast Cancer Awareness".  This is such an important cause and you can even send your finished cards to Link Up For Pink and they will put them to good use.  This is why I made two:

I have used SSD image Pink Ribbon Sassy along with a sentiment from SSD that was a freebie a couple Fridays ago.  I colored her with Copic, Stampin' Up and Whisper Strokes markers and distressed the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The star design comes from Lyndsey & The Little Claire team.  It's for a Christmas ornament so I adapted it for this.  The papers are Core 'dinations, Paper Pizazz & some generic.  The ribbon is Basic Narrows.  I then added some pearls from Queen & Co.

Now head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see the other fabulous creations my teammates have come up with and don't forget to join in the challenges we are sponsoring.

I have entered these challenges:

Link Up For Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness
Sentimental Sundays #123 - Anything goes
Forever Friends #46 - Anything goes
Incy Wincy Designs - Anything goes
3 Girl Jam #4 - Anything goes + ribbon
Craftymess #19 - Anything goes
Really Reasonable Ribbon #57 - Pretty in pink + ribbon
Oozak #7 - Die cuts

Thanks so much for your visit today.  Hope you have a fabulous day!

GOODBYE FOR NOW MY FRIEND

This beautiful girl has been my friend and companion for seven years.  Her name is Cinnamon.  She is a Daschund.  We rescued her from animal control.  She was a Christmas present for my daughter Alicia, however, she has been stuck to my heels for quite some time.  She slept with me every night tucked against my back.  Since I am always burning up this was not the most comfortable way to sleep.  I love her so much it didn't matter.

No matter what I did or where I went I always knew she would love me.  She greeted me at the door every time I came home.  She licked me even when I didn't want her to.

My friend died yesterday.  She went outside, laid down under a tree and passed away.  My heart is so broken.  Since I know all dogs go to heaven I will see her again.  She will be waiting to greet me when I return to heaven.  She will jump up on me so excited.  I wish we could have spent more time together.

I am missing her so much.

Goodbye for now my good friend.  I love you my Cinnamon.

TRICK OR TREAT

Happy "early" Halloween!  This is my first Halloween card of the season.  I've been trying to work more on Christmas cards.  Hopefully I won't be making cards at the last minute again this year.

Anyway, back to this card.  I did this card for a challenge over at The Corrosive Challenge with a sketch from Willow Sketchie Challenges.

The Corrosive Challenge is "Something wicked this way comes".  I thought this lovely image from Sassy Studio Designs was just a wicked little vixen and so perfect for this challenge.  There is a theme for the sketch at Willow and that is to use your favorite thing.  My favorites are a tie.  They are Glossy Accents and Stickles by Ranger.  I used the Glossy Accents on the boots and the hat.  I just love the way they shine things up.

To color my little witch I used Whisper Strokes, Stampin' Up and Copic markers.  These fabulous design papers came from Bearly Mine.  The rest are Bazzill and my stash.  The pearls are Queen & Co. and the sentiment is my own.

Here are the challenges I have entered:

Willow Sketchie - Sketch + your fave things
The Corrosive Challenge - Something wicked this way comes
Simon Says - Anything goes
Craft Us Crazy #27 - Halloween
My Heart Pieces - Use black
Fat Pages #23 - Anything goes
Heck of a Challenge - Spooktacular
Hooked on Crafts #25 -  Halloween
Forever Friends #46 - Anything goes
Stamp n Doodle - Anything goes

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Have a great day!

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

MY VERY FIRST DT CARD AT

I'm so thrilled to be part of the Sassy Studio Design team.  I am very honored to be here.  My sister (the fabulously talented Rebecca) has been on the DT for a long time and I just love these images.  Lindsay is such a talented woman.  I'm just so excited to be able to showcase her gorgeous images.

I have been assigned to the sponsorship team.  Each time SSD is sponsoring a challenge we do a card to go along with the theme.  This time we are sponsoring

http://www.linkupforpink.com/

Link Up For Pink is having a massive party Oct 1-14.  They have over $4000 worth of giveaways during this party.  Please go over and take a look.

As women we know just how important it is to get checked.  My sister will be the first one to tell you I don't follow my own advise but with the new testing equipment out there it doesn't even hurt. I don't mind getting my test done.

My best friend in high school died of breast cancer.  I looked for her for years after we lost touch and couldn't find her.  I found out just recently that she died about 6 years ago.  My sister works with a woman who is currently a survivor of this awful disease.  Please support this however you can.

To make my card I used Carrie from the Sassy In The City collection.  I colored her with Copic, Whisper Strokes and Stampin' Up markers.  I added some Glossy Accents and Stickles by Ranger then did a paper piece on her dress with one of the papers at Link Up For Pink.  The designer paper used also comes from Link Up For Pink.  These papers are available on their freebie page.  I added paper from Core 'dinations and my stash.  The ribbon is Darice and the charm comes from Inky Impressions.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and don't forget to stop over to see all the other fabulous creations done by my Sassy Sisters at Sassy Studio Designs.

I have entered into these challenges:

Link Up For Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness
Dream Valley - Go pink "Breast Cancer Awareness"
Craft Your Passion #130 - Save the hooters
Cupcake Craft #222 - Think Pink
Lexi's Creations #75 - Pink
Simon Says - Anything goes
Fat pages #23 - Anything goes
A Gem of a Challenge #56 - For the girls
